James Guitars is located in Mont Clare, PA which is a few miles from the Valley Forge Historical Park. It was started by Jim and Cory Houghton. It began as a part time venture that grew into a full time operation.

The main repair person is Jim. He has been working on guitars since the sixties and went to school for electronics in the late seventies and again in the nineties although education in the repair field is always ongoing. He has taken courses in guitar building from the Nazareth Guitar Institute and various other private instruction.

Jim is also a musician himself. He has been playing and singing for over thirty years. In 1991 he graduated from Valley Forge Christian College with a B.S. in Music. He has played in countless bands, duo's and also done solo work. He has also had the privilege of directing several Choirs both adult and children.

James Guitars is now serving the greater Philadelphia area including Montgomery, Chester and Delaware Counties though we are more than willing to do work that is shipped to us.
